Naked by JL Denman May 29, 2009

Naked
dancing
twirling on the cold sheets. Ice blue. Sun fresh scent wafting through open window panes.
naked
living
living boldly like fire flies and antelope. They never meet in life but live bright and free.
naked
singing
chirping summer songs on warm breezes. listening to the echoes sing-dance back again from rocks and wood and flower petals
naked
freed
naked
love
make life
naked
as newborns
fresh as rain
ephemeral as butterflies and dandelion seed
naked
live naked
love naked
sing naked
Oh! the deliciousness of bare.

Sipping through Straws by JL Denman May 29, 2009

Sip
slurp
puckered lips
delicious sensation
Cold liquid, sliding up the swirls
look at it swoop!
So silly these swooping straws
So like babies toddling along wet beaches in frilly bloomers over puffy diapers.

Sip
yum!
delightful lemon!
Icy. frozen bits of tangy summer
So silly. Look! These sipping straws
So like sand castles with salt water moats. floating seashell warriors on make believe quests.

Sip
smile
remembering thoughts
decadent thrill of penny candy
So silly sipping candy through crazy straws!
So like cousins locked arm in arm sharing secrets. about boys and mom’s high heels

Sip
Sip summer through a draw.
So like sunshine happiness.

Ebony Eclipse

I haven't felt that creative lately. The stress of work and everything is just weighing me down (literally, emotionally, and physically)!!! However, last night I finished the pendent for a wooden necklace. the working title is Ebony Eclipse.

On a side note- I have officially transferred the equipment and storage to my new digi. I took a few snaps of my cat. She is my child after all :)

New banner

Part of my three pronged obsession is photography. I adore taking pics of everything from patterns in brick to jewelry to skies! My next fav thing to do is open up Paintshop Pro and digitally play with the pics. I wanted a new, more eye catching banner for my Etsy store! What do you think?

Gem show haul

Ok, I finally was able to get my computer and digi cam to cooperate! I was able to create the montage. Here is the fruit of my gem show haul! I love attending these shows because it lets me see a wider range of product. It's also exciting to be in the hustle and bustle of all the people oohing and ahhing! I love it!

I'm excited to start making some of these beauties up!

Here is a small pendent from my tut.

Gem show Haul!!

Today I spent the majority of the afternoon at the gem and jewelry show. The wholesale section was rather skimpy. Not as many vendors were in there. However, I did manage to get several good deals! I love my haul. I had several of stones and crystals! OOOOOh the sparkle!!! The stones. The sparkle! AWWWWWWWWW a beader, jewelry maker's fun!!! WEEEE.

On another up note- I got my new digi cam today. My aunt brought it up with her. Of course I had to test it out with my mom (I went to her house after the show to show her the pieces that I purchased & pick up my digi cam). It will take a little while to get use to it. But It will be good times working it out! As soon as I get it together I am going to take pictures of my May 9 gem show haul!!

New digital camera on the way!

As you know, my digi cam died. It was fun to take pics with my cell phone when I knew I had my digi back up. When it became a MUST to cell-ie pic- well that was not as fun. It put a crimp in getting more photos and items uploaded to my Etsy site ( I need more sales).

Last night problem solved! Earlier in the day I was on line checking out digi cams. I wanted to see what was new out there and how much it was all going to cost. I had already set my mind to the fact that I would have to spend about $400 to get a new cam. Not exactly what I wantd to do. I was hoping to get a plane ticket to St. Croix for summer vacation! So...

Anyway, I looked at a few Fuji's and Canon's. Digital slr's have come down in price, but I still didn't want to spend $800 for them. Long story short (which is funny how God pays attention to the little things we want in life), about 6 hours later when I was making a bracelet and necklace, my mom (who never watches the Home Shooping Network) calls me and tells me to turn to channel 4. There on the screen was one of the slr type cameras I had looked at earlier in the day! How much was it saleing for you say?- $199.95! YES!!! LESS THAN HALF OF WHAT I HAD SET MY MIND TO PAY!!!! It was normally 499$ in stores! So my aunt ordered it for me. Then my mom tells me that she'll even pay for half of that! With taxes, shipping and a year extended warranty- $245 was cut in half to $125! Now how awesome is God to work that out!!! The additional funny- on the TV they had said it sold out right before my aunt dialed in. She still ended up with it ordered for me! I can't wait to get it by the 12th!

Fujifilm S1500 10MP 12X Optical Zoom

This afternoon I made a quick set from yellow mother of pearl discs, blonde wood, Czech glass, and gold-toned art wire. I call this set Sunshine on Sunday.
