Playing with shrink plastic

I don't remember playing with Shrinky Dinks when I was a kid. I remember them existing, but not actually playing with them. A few months ago I wanted to make some charms. I wanted to do some mehndi inspired pieces. So I got out the shrink plastic and started messing around. Well, the obsession has continued :) So, I bought some more and have been experimenting with it. Here are a few pieces that I made this week. I finished them up yesterday.

Bali Moon

Last night I had the polyclay for months, a wire wrapped unit for an earring, and a grey angle waiting for a match. I'm sitting at my table around 9PM and randomly start pulling them together (all three originally made for 3 separate projects months ago). My new piece Bali Moon is the result! Finished it at 2AM!

Materials:
silver toned wire, silver plated beads & dangle, pearlized grey glass bead, silver toned bead cap, polyclay face
approximately 3 inches long

Ebony Eclipse

I haven't felt that creative lately. The stress of work and everything is just weighing me down (literally, emotionally, and physically)!!! However, last night I finished the pendent for a wooden necklace. the working title is Ebony Eclipse.

On a side note- I have officially transferred the equipment and storage to my new digi. I took a few snaps of my cat. She is my child after all :)

Wandering Red River Queen

Wandering Red River Queen

A work in progress. I never know where these face pendents will end up. I decided that I would do a work in progress record. The construction is always different and the order freeform random.

I can't wait to see where the Wandering red River Queen will journey!

Materials:
Copper wire, Mother of Pearl leafs, red tiger eye, wood bicones, seed beads, and what ever else comes out of the proverbial kitchen sink!

Ok ... The final version is complete. I took photos last night but was not as pleased with them. So this morning, after showering- ahhhhh refreshment - :) -- I took out the cell-ie and snapped another round of pics. Here is one I actually like!

I give to you--- Wandering Red River Queen!!!

reina verde de la selva (Green Jungle Queen)

This was today's project. I started working on it and wasn't sure where it was going to go at all. I love that about creating pieces. One step leads to another. When does it end? When the last bead, pearl, wrap is done, then it's done! WEEE

This is copper, mountain jade, mother of pearl leaves and rounds, polylcay, pressed Czech glass leaves, and metal beads.

I also made the earrings this morning.

Pendent swap- Blue Tiger eye

Over on Jewelrygeeks I have organized a pendent swap. It is a good time to stretch your creativity and receive someone else's efforts as well. Here is the pendent I designed for my partner. It is made of blue tiger eye, sterling silver wrapping, and silver plated beads. Soon I'll post the rest of the group's pendent photos.

Dainty Sisters Pendents Tutorial

I have had two tutorials in the works. One completely finished. The second, I needed to take more photos for the step by step process. Last night I finished the second round of photos! I now have to do photo editing and a little rephrasing in the text and bam!- second tut done! I will be posting it up for sale by next week. I am so excited. Here are a few pictures of the finished Dainty Sisters Pendents (inspired by my sister of course!). Enjoy!
